‘Queen’s Ware is the cream-coloured fine earthenware which Josiah Wedgwood invented in 1763 after conducting a series of experiments. Its exceptional quality, combined with a rich and brilliant glaze, soon attracted the attention of Queen Charlotte, wife of George III; after ordering a quantity of ware for her own use she consented that it should thereafter be known as Queen’s Ware.’

The ‘Windsor Castle’ plate was the first design in an annual series of Queen’s Ware Christmas plates.

Condition: Plate is in excellent condition. Comes with little leaflet and number sheet. Also has original box but the box is scuffed and torn.
