Gurgle Jug Dartmouth Devon Pottery 9″ Tall Vintage

Sometimes called a glug jug or Dartmouth fish, the gurgling jug was introduced in 1953. A gurgle sound is made when the jug is tipped and trapped air escapes from the tail as the liquid pours.

The jugs achieved the royal seal of approval in 1958 when a special pair were presented to Prince Philip while he was visiting the BRNC.

Condition: Crazed due to age (See photos) otherwise lovely.
