The seaside town of Deal in the county of Kent, England used to have a pottery named Deal Art Pottery at the start of the 1900s. The land in that area has a seam of clay and there is still a pond, known locally as Potters’ Pond created by excavation of the clay for pottery.
Later the pottery began to make pipes, chimneys and other items for the building trade and the site was taken over by Castle Concrete, the site now occupied by The Builder Centre behind Albert Road.
